About Us

The Daywalka Foundation is a US based 501c(3) INGO human rights organization that addresses human trafficking, safe migration, and gender-based violence through culturally grounded, rights-based solutions.

Daywalka has a resource center in Kathmandu, Nepal, which has been open for several years. Daywalka is in the process of consulting with our local partners in order to open an office in Kolkata, India in the near future. Daywalka will also soon open another center in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Mission Statement

The Daywalka Foundation builds capacity among all stakeholders to ensure safe and sustainable livelihoods for all people, especially women and children who are unwillingly or illegally coerced or tricked into any form forced labor or slavery.

Daywalka builds capacity by:

  • enhancing collaboration while reducing duplication among governmental agencies, international governmental organizations (INGOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community based organizations (CBOs);
  • facilitating prevention, prosecution and protection programs through effective law enforcement, media, public awareness and empowerment programs among both the suppliers and consumers of trafficked labor;
  • generating and disseminating useful research, and creating a knowledge base about the lived experience through the ethnographic art of listening.
